Jay and Jess Visit

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

We had such fun with Jay and Jess at our house! Nora of course, was in heaven and I was grateful for the distraction from being pregnant and all the uncertainty of our upcoming life and happy for our family to be together!

Cute photos like these don't hurt either!
She loves Aunt Jess (way more than Uncle Jay-much to his dismay)

We went to Bull Creek for the morning one day with a picnic and it was lovely. Then I think everyone napped sufficiently well afterwards. Win win.

Selfie stick skillz

I see a peek into the future here! :)

My brother still spoils me whenever we are together: opens car doors, pays for things, cleans my windows (and is constantly concerned for any and all danger in life-
I both LOVE and HATE this about him! haha)

Hobby lobby with a toddler.....

Jess went back home and Jay stayed to see some friends for a few more days! Then we were lucky enough to get a little while longer with him so we "hiked" Mount Bonnell and it was beautiful!

Love my brother!

This picture is the ultimate "love me tiny human" photo.

And just two examples of Jay being an awesome uncle:

Thanks for visiting Jay and Jess! We love you!

Fourth of July 2016

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

We love the Fourth of July! We started with our annual breakfast and fun at the Ashfords house! We always love that! Plus how cute are these little patriotic kiddos?

Cutest matching friends!!

Love this girl!

 Cutest littles

Then we headed to the pool and lunch and it was so fun! It obviously wore Nora out! So she napped and I headed to the airport to pick up Jay and Jess!! We were so excited to have them come visit!

Nora was often skeptical of Uncle Jay but when she wasn't they were adorable together.

He made her lots of pillow forts and played hide and seek etc. A great uncle.

On the night of the Fourth we headed to Old Settler's park with some drinks and snacks to watch the fireworks. It was a gorgeous night!

Playing ball waiting for the sun to go down

Love this guy

 Look at that belly!!

36.5 weeks pregnant
Love when she's on his shoulders! It's so cute.

 A beautiful sunset
Playing with her light up Minnie

FIREWORKS!

Family time with the selfie stick!! I love these people.

Nora was scared of the fireworks at first but eventually liked them- pointing at the colors and saying POP POP...POP POP POP. She sat in my lap the whole time though and I didn't mind :)

It was a beautiful night and we didn't even get stuck in too much traffic on the way home!

God Bless America!

Burgers in Austin

Tuesday, October 11, 2016

One night we were having an off day and just needed to get out of the house! It was hot and we didn't know what to do so we headed on a drive to just see Austin again since it's such a great city! Of course we drove around for 40 minutes and then realized that our antsy 2 year old couldn't handle another 40 minutes back in the car so we got out to walk around Downtown Austin. Of course we had to pay $10 for parking and then we figured we should stay awhile to get our money's worth! But then it was dinnertime so we caved with some burgers on the street! They were delicious and it was such a fun impromptu night. Plus how could you resist these adorable photos of Nora? She's got so much personality! We love her to pieces!

This is Nora eating the burger

Then here she's giving us bites!
Enjoying MY soda!

Feeding Daddy french fries. Note that no chairs + high tables = Nora eats on the table lol

The best family selfie I could get!

Probably the most famous place to take photos in Austin.

One of my favorite shots of these two!!

See how I hadn't planned to get out of the car? Yikes.

Thanks for a beautiful evening Austin. You will always have a special place in our hearts.

Austin Date Night-Pregnant Edition

Monday, October 10, 2016

I'm trying to hard to catch up and then I stumble on more photos that can't be missed! We squeezed in a final date night before both our babies came! We went to Austin to a pizza place called 100 Pizzitas and it was super cute. They literally have 100 pizzas to choose from but they are small and you choose a few to try and there are all kinds of crazy ones with foie gras or shrimp or other combinations. It was so nice just getting to chat and have an adult evening with friends. We love the Macias and they were by far one of the hardest things to leave in Austin!

27.5 weeks pregnant!

I was 27.5 weeks pregnant and she was 38.5 weeks pregnant here! So our babies are so close in age! She was my first friend when we moved to Round Rock and we have been through so much in 5 years. I've been so lucky to have you by my side!

BUMP picture

Juan refuses to take a normal photo but these guys are best buds too

Such a cute little Austin restaurant

We tried a bunch of fun ones!

Then we walked dirty 6th street down to Voodoo Doughnuts!
We found a couple famous murals along the way.

All the options!

It was our first time and I was definitely a fan!
Still love Gordough's but it's a different kind of donut for sure.

Thanks for a great date night Austin!
